This week’s Northern Constitution is out now with 48 pages of local news, entertainment, sport and more...

Leading the front page this week is news that Jeffrey Donaldson is set for an imminent move from high-security Maghaberry Prison to the lower-security Magilligan Prison, some 70 miles away, as reported by Jilly Beattie.

Now 63, the former MP is currently being held for his own safety in a cell designed to house supergrass prisoners, in the hospital wing of HMP Maghaberry, which lies just 12 miles from the Donaldson’s Dromore home which is now up for sale.

Donaldson will be on the sex offenders register for life. He has not received personal visitors at Maghaberry to date, and sources say the move will potentially make visits easier to accommodate.

Inside, we have more news about HMO numbers in the borough, hear about the Infrastructure Minister’s ‘commitment’ to Dungiven, and the public are encouraged to attend a rally for Causeway Hospital.

Potential pathways for neurodiverse school leavers are explored at Limavady High on page 5, with new apartments proposed for Main Street in Limavady.

On pages 10 and 12 we have photos from Aaron McDaid’s coffee fundraiser for Freeman Heart Lung Transplant Association, and Foyle Hospice Quiz Night!

In between, you can find all the latest news from Council, church circles, farming and entertainment.

Turning to sport, Coleraine’s remarkable comeback against champions Larne makes the back page, as well as some of the scores from Rathmore Golf Club, and the winner of the inaugural Brian McCaffrey Memorial Trophy.
