The Roesiders travel to Larne this evening

Limavady look towards a tough fixture this evening in Larne FC at Inver Park, with all eyes on taking home all three points after securing a late draw on Saturday against Carrick Rangers.

The Roesiders looked set to leave empty-handed after Paul Heatley fired the hosts in front midway through the first half. Thanks to a costly error from the Carrick skipper in the 92nd minute, the own goal ensured the spoils were shared in difficult conditions over the weekend.

Limavady gradually threatened a response and substitute Oisin Duffy forced a good save from Carrick goalkeeper Nathan Gartside after being played through on goal. Limavady had the final say in the second minute of added time.

After Crowe blocked a shot on his own goal-line, the Carrick captain appeared to have time to clear. But his attempted clearance into his own net, handing the Roesiders a dramatic equaliser and a valuable point.

Limavady manager Paul Owens said after the match that he thinks his side “deserved that point today, for the way the game was played and the way the boys stuck at it.”

“The boys adapted to the conditions and the subs came on and made a massive impact on the game.”
