Hospital rally postponed
The 'Save Causeway Hospital' rally planned for tomorrow afternoon at Coleraine Town Hall has been postponed.
Organisers, SOS Causeway Hospital and Unison took the step because of forecast adverse weather.
The event aimed to address “mounting distress” over the state of local healthcare and threatened services at Causeway Hospital.
SOS Causeway Hospital said it wants “every single citizen” as well as national and local political representatives, trade unions, community groups, schools, and sports organisations to get behind a series of meetings and rallies this week in support of rural healthcare.
Despite the postponement of Saturday's rally, a week of action is still due to end next Monday when campaigners from four rural hospitals will descend on Stormont.
A SOS Causeway spokesperson said: “We would impress upon as many as possible to attend the final protest of our campaign week at 12pm Monday October 26 at the steps of Stormont.”
